Three stages that bring texture to light.

Once the mineral base has cured, the gold leaf is laid, pressed into the relief and finished by hand. These three stages preserve the texture beneath the leaf and shape the way the surface reflects light.

Laying the leaf
01

Laying the leaf

Using bamboo tweezers, the artisan places each delicate sheet onto the mineral base, positioning the edges and overlaps to follow the relief.

Pressing the leaf
02

Covering the relief

A soft goat-hair brush gently presses the leaf into the contours. The gold follows the raised and recessed areas, keeping the underlying texture visible.

Burnishing
03

Finishing the surface

Loose leaf is gently brushed away and the finish refined, allowing highlights and shadows to follow the relief. Small variations from hand finishing remain part of each piece.
